Desktop Services Technician
Job Overview
The Desktop Services Technician is a highly motivated individual who can communicate with internal and external users to provide technical assistance and support across a variety of technologies. The Desktop Services Technician will have the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users in an understandable and concise format. The Desktop Services Technician role is best suited for problem solvers who prefer to work in a fast pace positive environment and have a can-do attitude.
This position requires daily (Monday to Friday) in office presence.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Address user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking.
• Walk customers through installing applications and computer peripherals.
• Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems.
• Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions.
• Conduct remote troubleshooting.
• Test alternative pathways until you an issue is resolved.
• Customize desktop applications to meet user needs.
• Record technical issues and solutions in logs.
• Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
• Follow up with users to ensure their systems are functional.
• Report customer feedback and potential product requests.
• Help create technical documentation and manuals.
• Support, manage, optimize and maintain the configuration and installation of the end user equipment.
• Participate in the after-hours rotating on-call list
• Participate in meetings when required supporting any P1 issues including bridge calls when necessary.
• Follow OnProcess technical best practices.
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to operate computer equipment, attend meetings, communicate on calls, exchange information, and identify the needs in order to meet and full the requirements of this position.
