Job Overview

The Technical Project Manager III is a senior resource among a team of highly motivated technical project managers. Possessing both deep technology development project expertise and experience, the Technical Project Manager III provides thought leadership and coaching to team members, and endeavors to grow and mature the OnProcess technical project management capability. Ensuring technical solutions are sound and aligned to business goals, the Technical Project Manager III holds responsibility for day-to-day technical project management of technology projects through all stages of the implementation process.

The Technical Project Manager III is a professional who can anticipate, negotiate, and resolve problems, bottlenecks, and scheduling conflicts. The Technical Project Manager III is a sound communicator who can link scrum masters and development teams to technology solutions managers and business units to ensure high levels of quality and timelines of projects’

• Drive project kick-off activities: internal meetings, statement of work creation, project plan documentation for top-tier, high profile customers.
• Facilitate getting the work done practicing servant leadership and encourage discussion, decision making and conflict resolution.
• Support and mentor/coach junior technical project managers in support of complex project completion and professional growth
• Oversee and delegate assignments, report on risks, issues, and accomplishments.
• Using agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
• Training, mentoring, and supporting scrum teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices.
• Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items.
• Scheduling and facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes.
• Monitoring progress and performance and helping teams to make improvements.
• Planning and organizing sprint demos and product/system testing.
• Ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes and removing impediments for the scrum team.
• Tracking project processes, deliverables, and financials.
• Preparing and presenting status reports to stakeholders.
• Assist in team development through holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work, and leveraging cross-functional team skills to improve product backlog throughput.
• Act as an escalation path for implementation projects to reset and clarify expectations.
• Provide oversight and management of work backlogs, the prioritization process and work scheduling and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field
• 8+ years active experience as Technical Project Manager/Business Analyst/Scrum Master or in a similar role skilled in serving multiple teams while managing large teams of developers, QAs, BAs, and Vendors
• Significant experience with managing complex software development projects and/or enterprise systems implementations.
• Expert knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum and Kanban
• Business strategist mindset to plan and manage large-scale projects aligning business goals with technology solutions.
• Demonstrated experience driving process improvements, competitive advantage, and bottom-line gains through effective technical project management.
• Fluent in the practical application of common project management concepts (burn down charts, story pointing, scrum ceremonies etc..) including creating supporting documentation and processes.
• Superb written and verbal communication skills characterized by technical acumen, clarity, and brevity, to effectively communicate with internal and client stakeholders and teams.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and a natural predisposition toward data-driven decision making, additionally able to make reasoned decisions in situations of uncertainty or imperfect data.
• Known for ability to produce high-quality deliverables that meet or exceed timeline and budgetary targets.
• Diligent project manager offering a proven record of success planning and leading all phases of diverse technology projects.
• Proven experience in creating detailed project plans, including overall budget allocations, schedule roll-ups of all projects, critical path, and risk assessment and ensuring teams execute to plan.
• Able to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
• Passionate about solving real problems.
• Self-assured and results oriented professional with an ownership mentality.
• Able to manage and support numerous complex projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with global, geographically disperse teams.
• Able to mentor and develop junior technical project managers.
• Experience with common project management and business applications including Azure DevOps, JIRA, Microsoft 365, Aha, Roadmunk

Certifications (Required)
• PMP or PMI-ACP
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM or PSM)

Additional Nice to Have Certifications
• Certified SAFe Agilist
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO or PSPO)
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
